The School Leadership Development Program is based on the book Natural Forces. Universities, State Education Agencies, Regional Education Agencies, and Local Education Agencies may download this program for free.

This School Leadership Development Program focuses on leadership, not management. Persons wishing to learn more about management need to consider other avenues.

State, Regional, and Local Agencies
For State, Regional, and Local Education agencies, the program may be offered over two years. One option would include 20 half-day or evening sessions per year or a total 40 sessions over two years. Another option would include 10 full-day sessions per year or a total of 20 sessions over a two-year period.

Universities
For universities, the program is formatted to meet Specialist degree requirements. This program includes eight three-hour semester courses, plus one three-hour practicum that may be taken over the four semesters or during the summer. The total number of semester hours is 27.

Natural Forces School Leadership Development Program

This unique School Leadership Development Program is designed around 40 complementary learning sessions. Significant portions of this program may be downloaded for your use at no cost. The following components are included.

This is not a canned Leadership Development program. It is assumed facilitators are competent professionals with unique styles and strengths. Please use these materials to complement your strengths. Please include in your delivery other appropriate support items that you feel best meets the needs of the participants. It is ok to do it your way. Please honor our copyrights. Have fun.

Session Agendas Include:

• Identification of chapters/titles to be covered in The Natural Forces Book
• Listing of support items (materials, equipment, supplies, etc.)
• Overheads identified by number audio tapes to be used

What kinds of information is Included in the Facilitator Orientation Packets?

Note: Both Year 1 and Year 2 orientation packets include these items:

• Orientation to the program for facilitators
• Welcome, purpose, and mission statement
• Program overview
• Matrix (resource/materials identified by session number)
• Program layout and how to use the agenda
• Identification of multimedia items by topic and source to include audio songs, Deming library tapes, laugh and smile materials, movies, other items, Pegasus tapes, security tape, Seven Habits tapes, simulations, and something to think about items.

Note: Both Year 1 and Year2 orientation packets include these items:

Natural Forces (NF) School Leadership Development
Program - Delivery Models

Two of the many options will be shared below.

Option 1 - State, Regional, and Local Agency Models
Option 2 - University Degree Model

Option 1 - State, Regional, and Local Agency Models
For state, regional, and local education agencies, the NF program may be delivered in many ways. These include but are not limited to the following:

• Year One - 20 meetings (2 half-day or evening meetings, 3 hours each per month for 10 months covering NF sessions 1-20)
• Year One - 10 meetings (1 all-day meeting per month for 10 months covering sessions 1-20) 3-hour morning session with a lunch break followed by a 3 hour afternoon session covering NF sessions 1-20
• Year Two - 10 meetings - same format as Year One above for sessions 21-40
• Year Two - 10 meetings - same format as Year One above for sessions 21-40

Option 2 - University Degree Model

For universities, the Natural Forces School Leadership Development Program is formatted to meet specialist degree requirements. This program includes 9 courses of 3 semester hours each for a total of 27 semester hours. Each semester, two courses are taught in combination for a total of 6 hours per semester. This allows the student to take 8 courses over two years for 24 semester hours. The 3-semester-hour practicum/internship course may be taken when appropriate (summer, etc.)

Students meet 15 times each semester (15 class meetings at 5 1/2 hours each for the two combined classes). Students receive 6 semester hours of credit for 8 2 1/2 hours of class time each semester. You may wish to adapt this configuration to meet your needs. See the list provided which identifies which courses are taught in combination.

The University Program Model (matrix) identifies which of the Natural Forces Sessions (1-40) are taught each semester. Please note classes are devoted to specific numbered Natural Forces Sessions. In other cases, classes focus on orientation, review, etc.

Note: The 3-Semester Practicum may be delivered when appropriate.
